PROGRAMME OUTCOME / PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOME

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) course is designed to provide competencies in commerce discipline as also impart requisite skills in problem solving, leadership, communications, decision making in organizations with appropriate subjects covering areas of economics, accounting, business management, communication, banking, taxation, marketing, costing, business administration, and company law.

Our college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University which follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) which is a proven, flexible mode of learning in higher education which facilitates a student to have guided freedom in selecting his/her own choices of courses in the curriculum for completing a degree program. This is coupled with a focus on internship and Industrial Training to enable the students to become eligible and fully equipped for employment in industries, higher studies, or entrepreneurship.

The course structure will equip the students to accept the challenges of globalization and constant change and will enable them to be well placed in business, academics, and administration in the country as well as abroad.

Course Outcomes:

112 – Financial Accounting – I:

  • Learners will be able to prepare financial statements in accordance with appropriate accounting standards.
  • The learner shall be able to comprehend and analyse departmental accounts and consignment accounts.
  • Learners shall possess the knowledge of interpreting the business implications of financial statement information.

 

113 – Business Economics – I:

  • The knowledge gained in the course will make students better-informed citizens and allow them to follow the debates over various economic events and policies reported in the news media.
  • This course will prepare students to be successful in advanced level studies in economics
  • Students will be able to understand introductory microeconomics theory, solve basic microeconomics problems, and use these techniques to think about several policy questions relevant to the operation of the real economy.
  • It provides a solid foundation for economic analysis and thinking that can last throughout their education and subsequent professional careers.

 

 

114(A) Business Mathematics and Statistics – I:

At the end of the course, students will be able to

  • Apply mathematical and statistical techniques in a diverse variety of disciplines
  • Solve problems on their own by analysing the topics, calculate financial values required in business
  • Recognize the importance and value of mathematical and statistical thinking
  • Recognize and appreciate the connections between mathematical and statistical theory and applications, independently read mathematical and statistical literature

122 – Financial Accounting – II:

  • Learners will be able to prepare financial statements in accordance with appropriate Indian Accounting Standards.
  • Learners shall possess the knowledge of theoretical as well as practical aspects of accounting of the Partnership Firms with respect to admission, retirement and death of Partner/s.
  • The learner shall be able to understand the process and accounting for Amalgamation of firms.
  • Learners shall be acquainted with the process of payment of liabilities of the Partnership Firm upon its dissolution.

126 (C) – Marketing & Salesmanship:

  • The learner will gain the broad understanding of marketing management concepts, competition, and marketing strategies.
  • The course highlights the role of environmental factors, SWOT analysis and Porter’s five forces in designing marketing strategies.
  • The course provides an overview of competitive strategies, product and pricing strategies that will form the base for the advance application-based studies.

232 – Corporate Accounting – I:

  • Learners will be able to prepare financial statements in accordance with appropriate accounting standards
  • The learner shall be able to comprehend and analyse branch accounts and hire purchase transactions.
  • Learners shall possess the knowledge of interpreting the business implications of financial statement information.
  • Learners shall be able to comment on inventory valuation methods followed by a concern and its implications.

233 – Business Economics (Macro):

  • The knowledge gained in the course will make students better-informed citizens and allow them to follow the debates over various economic events and policies reported in the news media.
  • This course will prepare students to be successful in advanced level studies in economics

236 (A) Business Administration:

  • Understand the concept of effective retailing, possess the knowledge of various retail formats and will be able to understand retail customer.
  • The learner shall be able to comprehend the various terminologies and concepts like BPO, KPO, etc. in the ITES sector.
  • To be able to comment on the recent trends like digital payments, FDI and other futuristic trends in the banking and insurance sector.
  • To be able to analyse the opportunities and challenges faced by Indian Corporates for smooth transition to e-commerce in B2B, B2C, C2C activities.

 

236(E) – Cost and Work Accounting-I:

  • Learners will be able to understand the difference between Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting.
  • Learners shall be acquainted with the basics of Costing Concepts and Principles.
  • Learners will be able to prepare Cost sheet in accordance with appropriate standards of Cost.
  • Learners shall possess the knowledge to apply Standard Costing & Marginal Costing, which are commonly used in industries.
  • Learners shall be able to understand the concept Process costing, Joint Products and By- Products.

 

241 – Business Communication – II:

  • Students will be job ready as they would be acquainted with the various interview skills
  • To acquire various language & writing skills like drafting a notice, agenda and resolutions, trade letters, reports, summarizing, business proposals etc. which are essential for the smooth functioning of a business organization
  • Students would be well aquatinted with the different forms of group communications, their advantages, and disadvantages
  • To learn the coordination, tools, and strategies of internal and external public relations activities

352 – Advance Accounting-I:

  • Learners will be able to prepare financial statements in accordance with appropriate Indian Accounting Standards.
  • Learners shall possess the knowledge of legal provisions regarding the Issue & Underwriting of shares & debentures along with its calculations and treatment in the books of accounts.
  • Learners shall be able to understand the concept of Profit Prior to Incorporation and its effect in the books of accounts.
  • The learner shall be conversant with the Investment Accounting for transactions of purchase and sale of investments of Shares and Debentures.

 

354 – Auditing and Taxation-I:

  • Learners will be able to understand basics of Auditing Concepts and Techniques and their application in Audit
  • The learner shall be able to comprehend Standards on Quality Control (SQCs)and New/Revised Standards (Auditing, Review and Others) issued under the Clarity Project
  • Learners shall possess the knowledge of interpreting the Audit Report of the Companies through cases and examples with reference to New/Revised Standards (Auditing, Review and Others)
  • Learners shall be able to read and comment on Annual Reports of the companies listed on BSE with reference SA 700-799, Audit Conclusions and Reporting

355 A – Business Administration-II:

  • The learner will gain the broad understanding of promotional and distribution strategies. The course provides an overview of services and rural marketing that will form the base for the advance application-based studies.
  • The course also introduces learners to the world of consumer behaviour and how the understanding of buyer behaviours applied in designing strategies at marketplace.

356 A – Business Administration-III:

  • The learner shall be able to comprehend the types of production system and list the inventory management systems.
  • The learner will be able to describe the structure of Indian Securities Markets and its impact on economy.
  • The course will enable the learner to reflect on the various investment avenues available in India and describe the recent trends in the world of finance.

361 – Business Regulatory Framework:
